UPDATE : It’s official, though the official rollout start date is August 3rd, and the update should be available to all users by August 14th. 08/03 is when the notifications begin, but it’s worth checking for the update before you’re notified: For those who just can’t wait to get Android 2.2, there will be an easy user initiated option to download the upgrade. Customers can access the software update through their HTC EVO 4G under the Settings Menu > System Updates > HTC Software Update

At this point in Android’s life cycle, “legacy” problems and updates are still a real real sore spot for many users. I want to take a second to reiterate something that I know tends to slip from our minds
